Windows 10 Game Mode coming later this week

The brand new Windows 10 Creators Update is just around the corner. It will have some special gaming features, and it’s nearly ready to roll-out.

There will be a new insider build (so it is not stable) in the upcoming week and it’s going to have the mysterious “Game Mode” on it! The improvement won’t be fully functional until later releases, but Microsoft has at last shed some light on what it is: it’ll fine-tune your PC to speed up gaming performance by disabling some background processes (in both Win 32 and UWP games).

Both PC and Xbox One will receive Xbox Live upgrades that help you connect to friends on social networks (is anyone even using that on the PC?), a more social-friendly Activity Feed, better tools for Clubs and looking-for-group posts, and the option to start your own Arena tournaments in games like Killer Instinct and World of Tanks.

Sounds nice and lets hope it won’t have much problems on the release day. Windows 10 Creators Update is coming out in March 2017.

First Candy Crush, now a crappy snakeoil “Game Mode”?

Oh God. Just give us configurable Windows Updates and Telemetry and people will love you.
    It’s not so hard.
