Mouse and keyboard support now available on Xbox One

My Xbox One X just updated today with around 500MB update which brings mouse and keyboard support to the console. So far Microsoft announced couple of titles with support and it looks like there are a lot more to come.

First titles to support the PC components are Fortnite, Minecraft and Warframe. I will checkout Fortnite today even though I am totally not a fan of Battle Royale. Actually I loved the game in it’s early alpha stage back in 2016 and played hundreds of hours with my buddy Zuko. Seriously building in coop was so much fun! Now after Early Access brought BR mode it all went downhill.

Anyway back to the mouse and keyboard business. If they idea catches on and some big publishers or developers are going to introduce it we’ll have a really nice thing going. One X ia a really nice piece of a box for that €500 so it would work like a decent PC especially with strategy games coming up such as Age of Empires 4 and Warcraft III: Reforged.

Here are some quick screenshots from Fortnite mouse and keyboard on One X (screenshots in Polish, I’m too lazy to switch languages):

The main problem was that I couldn’t chat to those guys with keyboard even though the settings screen shows ENTER for chat, people seemed to be confused they see an Xbox player on their players list, there is an indicator on my team showing that these guys are playing on PC.

Speaking of Xbox they have launched the Black Friday sale now where hundreds of titles are currently on sale. I don’t care for those much but Game Pass is now cheap too – it works like Netflix for games with over 200 titles available – Xbox Live Gold is on promo too.

I can’t wait for strategy games to come on the console!
