CS:GO available for pre-order, unfair prices!

You can now pre-order Counter Strike Global Offensive. With this being the the first Valve-release in more than a year, Valve have decided to continue using their stupid tier-system in which they have randomly divided Europe into two tiers + the UK. The game is quite cheap, being a new release and all. This is especially true for the USA and parts of Europe.
 

If you pre-order, you get 10% off, so the US price is currently $13,49.
In the UK, the price is £10,79, which is 25,35% more expensive.
In EU tier 1, the price is €12,59, which is 16,09% more expensive.
In EU tier 2, the price is €9,89, which is 8,82% cheaper.

 

This is good news for us Norwegians i guess, but not so for our neighbors Sweden and the UK. What were Valve thinking when they decided to incorporate this system into all their releases?

    why did you skip the russian pricing? they just increased it a day ago but at start it was around 260 RUB = 6.7 EUR…gaaaay

    I already knew the pricing which would be close to $=€. VALVe did another pricing problem where europeans getting ripped off. *now playing loadsemoney* -_-

    Is this even legal in EU? Can they charge a customer different price, based on which EU country they reside in?
    VAT can play a role, but I believe that base price has to be the same for every EU citizen – or at least, they cannot block the access and purchases in their localized “eshop” from other EU countries.

    Valve games always had this pricing system. EU tier 1 gets 1$ = 1€ ,EU tier 2 gets slightly cheaper prices and UK usually gets something equivalent with EU tier 1. Is nothing new. And is a lot better than 1$=1€ for whole Europe.

    And the tier system is not really that random.
