Do you like what they have showed us on the Steam store or not and why? I personally think that this is not a bad idea but the execution is horrible. I’ve expected something like top 5 Steam machines to be released, ranging from mid to high-end PCs inside, instead we get over 15 machines – really, really overpriced looking at their hardware specs, closed in nice boxes.
I understand this is for casual consumers but casual consumers have no idea which one to chose, it would be easier for them to pick a lets say “Medium Steam Machine”, “Ultra Steam Machine” etc. than this. Even a pretty decent notebook running Windows is easier to explain to an average consumer.

Right now they are ranging from $500 to $5000 which is a really fucked up price, most of those costing over $1000 on the Steam store can be bought for less than $700, even if you’re counting in the custom made, nice looking, small case. Now Steam Controller on the other hand, along with Steam Link and SteamVR might be really cool.
