Ubisoft is launching their new service called Uplay. I gotta say that the presentation on their website is stunning! What is Uplay? It’s just another service like Games For Windows Live or Steam Community.

Basically you have so called Uplay Win which has accomplishments (achievements), points and other unlockable stuff that is synchronized with your consoles (XboX 360 and PS3) and the PC!

Uplay Help has tutorials and walkthroughs created by the community or Ubisoft game developers.

Uplay Store has all the DLC and probably games like Assasin’s Creed 2 and Splinter Cell Conviction for now.

Uplay Share – friends and your own content like videos from the game or screenshots.

All services are available through the game you’re playing or Uplay.com! Could this crash XboX Live/Games For Windows Live or services like Steam Community or Xfire? More about Uplay here.

    This is an interesting system, the way that you can buy content by completing your games adds an incentive to play them to the full. Stuff like this will lower the size of my pile of shame and shows me that companies think of consumers as more than just profit margins.

    Even if it is Ubisoft.

    i found at least 1 game that was cheaper in games for windows live than in steam :)

    \seems to be a nice service however, if theres gonna be a steamstore-like shop, it will definitelly rape europeans!

    btw i dont think that every game that comes out can support windows live, steamworks and this new think all at once..

    This has nothing to do with “marketing” or any other promotion. Don’t like it, don’t read it.

    I’m subscribed to Ubisoft’s newsletter and this came in to my e-mail yesterday and I think that it’s a very good idea and last time I checked I do own this website so I think I can post whatever I want.

    Another “marketing post” by steamunpowered. Dude, write something about it, say that it’s shit or that it’ll own steam or whatever.

    I liked steamunpowered because it had an opinion. Atm you’re just copy/pasting crap.

    I think it would be cool but it’s boring to get steam + xlive or Uplay, to play one game … All with DRM i guess :(

    I think the best thing about this is the multiplatform support – like Steam Cloud but for machines.

    this is cool, that you get u-points for achievements, and then you can buy DLC’s and other stuff with it.

    but it’s ubisoft…
