SteamUnpowered.eu being false-reported as Web Forgery

Update: Currently all is good, SteamUnpowered.eu is not being reported as Web Forgery :)

It all started with DLC post. Now almost every new post is reported as forgery attack site. Currently you can experience it in Weekend Deal post https://steamunpowered.eu/weekend-deals-01-10-10/

But it is not true!

SteamUnpowered.eu does not contain any bad, malicious scripts that try to install junk to your computer or gather your passwords or trick you, also there is no spambots, no toolbars, no trojans, no viruses, no rootkits, etc. We are clean!

You may confirm it by yourself: http://www.stopbadware.org/home/reportsearch

SteamUnpowered.eu contains scripts and images from four totally legal and trustful third parties:

  • Facebook, which is usually reported as web forgery. Read here.
  • Google Analytics – web statistics
  • Gravatar to display avatars from gravatar.com site
  • Paypal – Donate button

We have contacted with Google using this form, so hopefully it will be cleared soon.

Anyway, the workaround is to disable temporarily this warning, which may be actually not the wisest thing to do, but still.. if no one else can help, and if you can find them, you can hire… The A-Team!

To do so, open Options from Tools menu and select Security tab and remove checkboxes from 2nd and 3rd item, like shown on following image:

PS. Don’t be afraid of my wooden Firefox and Thunderbird theme :D It is called Walnut.

You are mistaken, my friends, this shows exactly which browser cares about the users and which ones doesn’t. Of course there is risks for false reports like this case, but it mostly saves lives and money and nerves.

Chrome (which is made by Google, if you don’t know anything about browsers) doesn’t say a word when I enter the site.

Good thing I disabled that “feature” the second it has been enabled in Firefox.
I’m not going to let Google (who host the database for Mozilla!) decide for me, what I can see or not. :D
