Prison for cheating in games? Yep! In South Korea.

South Korea has just started criminalizing the creation and distribution of aimbots, wall hacks, and anything else not allowed by a game’s terms of service. Anyone convicted of doing any of those things could face up to 5 years in prison or $43,000 in fines.

The law doesn’t target esports specifically, although that would seem to be its most obvious target. Game makers like Valve, Blizzard, and Riot will no doubt welcome the new law.

I really doubt this would get a private person in trouble. Cheaters are trolls mostly after all. And I don’t really think that terms of service of any game should be working like real life law…
