Believe it or not but Rockstar Games is selling Max Payne 2 on Steam with a cracked executable file. Apparently the crack was created by one of the most popular cracker groups out there called MYTH.
If you’re a gamer you probably realize who MYTH is/was in the past.
Here’s an ASCII "Myth" logo hidden in the game’s .exe:

yes. the whole point is that rockstar almost doesnt make games for pc or there are huge delays.. because of the piracy level on pc.. then using a work of other people.
ubisoft is the same..
xbox 360 is hacked and there are possibly several times more pirates playing on that console than on pc.. yet incomes are still crazy high plus M$ bans people from time to time too.. so who cares there..
everybody is like the pc is evil and consoles are pirateless.. i guess a little too OT:p
the problem with that is not really about the crack, if there’s not happy-trojan inside it’s perfectly ok.
The problems are more about :
– they are using the work of these teams without giving any credits, not even modifying the ASCII inside the .exe with a like “Nice work Myth :)” or a simple “- Thx guys”, these hackers are doing that for the challenge, not for money or “stealing” the precious games to be the baddies, being fair play with them would be much more intelligent.
– while using these cracked .exe to avoid paying a programmer 2 or 3 weeks to clean-remove the protection, they’re pushing crazy DRM systems every 2 years !
Just look at GTA IV : SecuROM + online activation + GFWL DRM + Rockstar Social Club DRM, seriously ?!
If they had any kind of honesty they would stop selling us these unplayable (due to DRMs) games when they’re using cracked .exe for their own profit, they must choose one side.
They want our money and our freedom to use games, too. What the – ?!
Hey Mr Obvious, it was up to date like a year ago :) they “were too lazy” to create a part of patch, so they used part of crack

Oh, come on. The crack doesn’t make the game worse. It’s still really good game, with or without crack. They were lazy, ok, but who isn’t?
Ubisoft did that for several of its games, they were caught copy-pasting no-cd codes many times.
I remember that time they were proposing a cracked .exe as a solution to some bugs on one of their games… ha ha. Rumors said there was several crask on one of their FTP deposit.
