Steam: Divinity 2: Ego Draconis cheaper for Tier 2, more expensive for Tier 1

Divinity 2: Ego Draconis was released on Steam, it is cheaper for Tier 2, but more expensive for Tier 1. If you want it and live in Tier 1, I suggest getting a friend that lives in the UK or Tier 2 gift it to you.

US: $49.99 $44.99
UK: £29.99 £26.99 (4% lower)
EU tier 1: 49,99€ 44,99€ (43% higher)
EU tier 2: 19,99€ 17,99€ (43% lower)

You have to read it in EA-speak:

    – “Hey Steve, what would that new, absolutely awesome game cost if it was sold through retail?”
    – “100 bucks!”
    – “K, so to make it cheaper, we sell it for 50 and sell all the important stuff as DLC for 5 bucks each. How about that?”
    – “Sounds like a plan, Lou, keep fucking that chicken.”

Are you sure about EA? Lately they predicted that game prices will fall:

“EA Canada senior suit wearer Jason DeLong has peered into his crystal ball and seen a future where game prices fall rather than rise – a future he believes is only a handful of years away.”

Well their meaning is, that game price will be low but it doesn’t contain much :) And then they sell DLC’s.

So in the future you buy L4D3 for 10€ and get only the engine. Every chapter, gamemode and teammate is a commercial DLC :) And of course weapons, hats, grenades, enemies, bosses, levels, skills etc also ;D

While we’re on that note, some publishers think they don’t even charge enough yet. *cough* EA *cough*

@slay, yeah, that will work for sure ;)

I agree it’s completely silly and unfair price, but I doubt such thing would work. For the simple reason that 45 dollars is a usual price for games, and 45 euros is a usual price for games too (actually, a bit lower than the usual).
So you will never see a publisher putting higher price in US than the usual retail price, even if they are from Europe. That would be suicidal.

Of course it’s unfair that such pricing exists, but when we look at the fact, what do we see? MW2 for 60 euros, still on top of Steam sales.
Why would they even bother to lower prices, if people are buying by thousands?

To have a chance to change such unfairness, we would need to actually change people supposed to complain about it instead of buying. But here are the facts, most people will pay their game 60 euros (or 70 for consoles)… In such context, I doubt that publishers will ever want to lower prices. No need to lower if it sells.

    :D

    Cool. This is great.

We should contact ALL European developers/distributors and call them up to make US prices 44% higher! As a protest to Steam EU prices :)

So lets see how long they tolerate this kinda unfairness :P

No worries, it was well-intentioned. :)

Nevermind that statement, I misunderstood the meaning of the title (didn’t check the prices before commenting)

What’s with the special mention about the tiers in the title?
Tier 1 has always been the most expensive one.

“If you live in Tier 1 you’re paying the most for games on Steam, if you happen to live in Tier 2 you’re paying a little bit less”
