Kalypso backstabbing EU users with unfair price for Dungeons!! (updated)

Thank you everyone, who joined Kalypso forum and said something about this unfair price.

We won something, but not much. The price has been lowered 5€, down to 44,99€. BUT this doesn’t fix the problem. We get now ripped off by 52% instead of 67%.

Beware. There are more Kalypso games with ultra unfair price as written in my post also. I think that they will simply delete the it and ban me from the forums.

I wanted this game! Now I don’t! Unless they correct the price politics. But they won’t.

Fortunately there is a thread in Kalypso forums about this Steam Special Edition and one guy asked the question, why is the price in EU 20€ more expensive than in US. Let’s find out what they answer to this. And we got an answer:

They don’t give shit about EU! Ok that is not entirely true, because they finally lowered the price by 5€, but unfortunately it is still far from being fair price :(

Okay, I registered and posted something too, let’s wait answer for this.

So DO NOT BUY THIS GAME (DUNGEONS)! Unless it’s on sale with a very cheap price!

this game is a copy of dungeon keeper, i say more maybe dungeon keeper kicks this game ass after more than 10 years…and they want sell it like if they make a new and original game.

It is mostly true, for US publishers, to whom EU is land of rich morons, who got money-trees growing in their garden. For them there is no countries like Germany, United Kingdom, Poland or whatever which one. It is one big country called Europe. So when they come to Steam, they will be asked for price. “Oh sure, it’s $39.99”. “Okay, what price for UK and EU?” “Huh? Put there something, let it be like …. 49.99 yes, it is a nice number, put there 49.99. Well I don’t know how much it is in USD, but it’s a nice number. I like it.”

If it was a VAT issue, let me pay in dollar then add the tax. Even amazon.co.uk sets it’s custom exchange rate (nowhere near the real one) that steal from the final user without him knowing that.

If you look carefully, all Valve’s products have fair prices (at least now).

Some publishers must be trying to pull the rope as much as possible to earn more money for a short time, before pricing down their games.

or not, from what i’ve seen there is no multi-player (correct me if I’m wrong)… and the masses will turn to some other sources to get the game… (free sources that is ! :) ) and i will buy the retail game, when it will have a right price, i don’t mind having a nice collection of real touchable games

Forget steam, they got greedy, they don’t deserve our respect, and our money.

When I look at this price and then at available screen shots and trailer I start to think that the guys at Kalypso must be mad. I mean the game looks bad visually and I doubt that it will be able to offer enough content to justify the price.

Even if you add VAT to the USD price it’s no where near 44.99 EUR.

This sickens me, the developers earn more from european customers and I’m pretty sure they don’t mind.

Fuck them and their greedy currency conversion.
