EA Removes Recently Released Games from Steam

electronic-arts

It seems that Electronic Arts has quietly removed some of its recent releases from Steam – including Crysis 2 and Alice: Madness Returns.

However, for some reason they decided to keep those games on other digital services such as Amazon and Impulse. Although there has been no official statement from either EA or Valve concerning the matter, it would appear as though EA is preparing a big fight on the digital market area.

Additionally BioWare’s MMO caled Star Wars: The Old Republic is going to be released exclusively on Origin. Coupled with the upcoming high-profile launch of Battlefield 3, which is rumored to be headed for Origin exclusivity, EA seems to be poised to make a big push against Steam.

Given how new the Origin system is many gamers remain hesitant to adopt the new platform.

Wow. Just wow. They really think of their customers as morons.

“Steam suddenly changed their contract terms and now we can’t sell the game on their platform ’cause they banned us since we sell it on our own platform too! D:> ohhh we are sooo saaaaad~~ ”

We are not that gullible. WTF is wrong with that stupid company!!?

“…don’t take an option away from your customers…” I think this is exactely what they are planning to do, because battling steam without actually battling it doesn’t get you anywhere.

EA is trying to win a competition without competing… that’s not the way.

Bad move, EA. At least start with your next title and don’t take an option away from your customers.
