Impulse is expanding it’s catalog!

Impulse, the digital distribution storefront from Sins of a Solar Empire publisher Stardock, now has the support of major publishers Ubisoft and Activision, as the service bulks up its catalog.

Stardock announced that Activision’s newly-released action game Prototype and the 2007 blockbuster Call of Duty 4 are now available for Impulse users, priced at $49.99 and $39.99, respectively.

Also coming soon are three games from French publisher Ubisoft: Far Cry 2, Assassin’s Creed and Heroes of Might and Magic V: Tribes of the East, all priced at $19.99. The Ubisoft titles release on Impulse in the near future, with other undisclosed Ubisoft games arriving at a later date, Stardock said.

The Activision and Ubisoft games are part of a growing roster for Impulse, which also hosts titles from 2D Boy, 2K Games, Atari, Capcom, CDV, D3 Publisher, Epic Games, THQ and Stardock itself, among other game makers.

Stardock launched Impulse in summer 2008, stepping into the digital download arena with other digital distribution services such as Valve Software’s Steam and IGN’s Direct 2 Drive.

As our Impulse platform continues to gain favor among PC gaming fans, we’re continuously adding the best titles the industry has to offer," said Brad Wardell, CEO of Stardock.

Very nice. I definitely prefer Impulse over Steam, especially due to their refund policy.
