If you haven’t heard yet, you can get Just Cause 2 (the game is registerable on Steam) and a lot more other games on Eidos’ website. Unfortunately their store might not be available to everyone outside United Kingdom. But games can be gifted! So if you have friends in UK or good UK proxy go ahead and buy.

I do all that but when I click on Buy or Gift nothing happens.

– Used a UK based glype proxy ( http://my-proxy.co.uk – encoding and page encoding off) to load the link https://shop.eidos.com/index.php?trymedia=justcause2_ps/lt_ei_uk/4adb08f70d25b3736502fd658332e1cc&gift=1 and clicked Checkout
– Entered my info under ‘I am a new customer’, selected sweden as my country (there is no South Africa), clicked Register
– Entered the ‘beneficiary of your gift’ info (me), selected my payment as VISA, clicked PAY NOW
– The shop now redirects glype/proxy to something like https://na.gcsip.com/orb/orb?ACTION=DO_START&REF=A&MAC=A/B/C/D=
– Now you need to load this link directly – aka, without a proxy of any kind. Then enter your card details, submit!
It might kick up an authentication error when processing your card, but go and check your bank statement and your email inbox – mine went through, even with this auth payment error. Now you just need to activate your key on steam, and presto. :-)

Too bad they don’t allow buying outside of UK. I would have bought Batman Arkham Asylum. Maybe there will be a gift or sale on Steam.

Well can’t seem to get glype to work.
Aren’t you afraid of the fact that your credit card details maybe get hijacked by using a (free) proxy?!
I actually adapted my instructions as I hate proxy apps. I prefer just using a browser based web proxy. Google glype or something like ‘facebook unblock’, then look for the sites using .co.uk domains.
What proxy did you use? Some of the free programs are meh…
I managed to gift myself a copy of JC2, all the way from South Africa!
All you need to do is “gift” order & register via a UK proxy. Once you get to the page where you need to enter your credit card details, you need to turn off the proxy and reload the page. Enter your details and submit!
Even though the eidos site told me the credit card payment failed, it seemed to have worked as my bank statement shows the charge and I got a email with my “gift”/serial number. :-)
