Google Games

According to TechCrunch, Google is working on a new big project. The company invested around $200 million into Zynga – a Web 2.0-based social network game developer located in San Francisco, California. The company develops browser-based games that work both stand-alone and as application widgets on social networking websites such as Facebook and MySpace.

So what is Google up to? Are they going to compete with Steam, Impulse and others later on? It’s certain that Google Games will be available this year. The system will probably be a big part of Google Chrome OS.

Nah, Google like collect to much data for their own good. Google is the only site where I block cookies.
All this email, Wlan, search profile data they store will probably not be to my benefit at the end. They are already facing charges in USA, UK and Germany for privacy violations.

I’d really want Google to buy Steam and Valve. I’m serious, this would be great.

Considering Google will soon launch its own social network (Google ME, think Facebook with some privacy involved), this acquisition might be related to the development of gaming content for that platform… We’ll see :)
