I guess that the most of you already know the Humble Bundle, anyway….

The Humble Bundle (http://www.humblebundle.com) is a project that lets you to choose how much pay to receive a bunch of STEAM ACTIVABLES indie games.

If you opt to donate really few moneys, you’ll just get Frozen Synapse and Trauma, but if you beat the average $ donated then you will also get the Trine, Shadowgrounds, Shadowgrounds: Survivor, the Splot and Jack Claw. You also get soundtracks included for all the games in the bundle.

Remember that as well as the indie developers, charities (the EFF and Child’s Play) also get some of the money raised from the bundle, so it’s always a worthwhile purchase even if you don’t play the games.

(Stole some of the text from ripten.com cuz im lazy).

After that Heroes of Newerth (http://www.heroesofnewerth.com) went Free to Play, all the gamers were hoping to find in Dota 2 the competitive gamers heaven…

Recently the Dota 2 client has been leaked and guess what the people found?

Dota 2 is projected to have a store and that might be Free 2 Play….

We just have to hope that it will only sell hats or skins….

The rumors of F2P just ruined a lot of gamers' dream…

But was it really a surprise? I don't think so…

When steam released Steam Wallet (and the TF2 shop) and then announced Dota 2 I had this terrible, terrible feeling…. Like you know… if they start to insert a shop in a buy 2 play game, what can stop them to make a Free2Play game?

Then we heard in June that Valve was going to release a free 2 play (micro-transactions powered) game….

Valve has just announced that the completely FREE upcoming DLC for Portal 2 entitled “Peer Review” will be available for all platforms (PC, Mac, PS3, Xbox360) on October 4th… for science.

According to Valve:

In “Peer Review”, you and a friend will continue the story of loyal bots P-Body and Atlas as you puzzle your way through a mysterious new co-op test track and once again match wits with GLaDOS. The DLC also features a single player and co-op Challenge Mode, and leaderboards to compare Challenge Mode scores with friends and the Portal community.

In celebration they’ve also released the last bit of the Portal 2 soundtrack “Songs to Test By: Volume Three” which can be downloaded HERE (http://thinkwithportals.com/blog.php)
