German download service Gamesload has announced plans to expand into twenty countries across Europe, including the UK, Ireland, Sweden, Denmark, Poland and Norway.
Owned by Deutsche Telekom, the largest telecommunications company in Europe, Gamesload has been a market leader in its home country since 2006. It currently offers over 2,500 products for download, including a portfolio of up to 1,500 PC and casual games.

Prices on their site (still only in German language) are looking promising: 5-10€ cheaper than on Steam.
For example Risen: Steam 49.99€, DL Gamer 44.99€, Gamesload: 39.99€
So finally some competition? I hope so.
