It came to my attention that yesterday Amazon.de lowered the price from 59.99€ to 19.99€.
That is the absolute killer price. ~12€ less than the next cheapest UK Shop! Even 1€ less than the Russian version offered at a CD-Key Shop.

Of course the game is heavily cheated, thanks to the bad implementation of V.A.C. Which allows hackers to disable and play MW2 without V.A.C. and use even detected hacks. Not to forget the game has no dedicated servers.
But nevertheless it's the most played game at Steam with around ~100K players everyday.
Since the release of Bad Company 2 it lost over night more than 15.000 players
Thats a nice drop indeed. But i stand my ground – no dedicated server and retarded matchmaking are no buy for me. Evah!
I bought BC2 last week, but still waiting for delivery. Also few friends are interested in BC2 and once they see it at my place it will be like MW2 never existed.
Besides – if i don't like the game i can sell or give it away – unlike MW2 that is bound to Steam account.
On the note of players – MW2 is Steam game so you see total players for that game (90k atm). BC2 is currently on 30k, but since Steam has its game roughly 30% more expensive than in retail i would say that players out of Steam is much larger. Probable already beating MW2. If its not – wait a month.
I really interesting is that Modern Warfare 2 managed to beat Counterstrike 1.6 as the most played Steam only game, but then again Counterstike 1.6 and Counterstrike: Source together still have more players ~160K

well agree 100% – i'll add you Stranded, my nick is Kossak in game.
I've added you, they just fixed the EA account problems and stuff (it was all overloaded with people trying to play!). But every server is now full lol or gets full in 3 seconds.
If anyone want to form a squad with me,
my soldiers name is Dragoon.x and yeah the connections problems two days ago was very annoying. But since they released the server software R5 they become quite stable.

hmmm i never used mumble, only teamspeak/ventrilo, but i'll install it. Me and my clan have our own teamspeak, but if nobody is there for some bfbc2 action i'll join you on mumble. Besides we can talk using ingame voip too, which i use sometimes – just don't know if it works only for your squad or for the whole team.
Me and my buddies usually use Skype, since it got very good quality and doubles as Instant messenger.
Dragoon Skype isn't even comparable with Mumble. Just ask Kossak (he just left our server) – he said that he's amazed with the voice quality.

Yeah it's now 31€ now, guess it was Amazon version of a Weekend Deal. :)
Instead Amazon now got an other nice deal. The Fallout 3 Collectors Edition for 19.95€. That a good price if you want explicitly the Collectors Edition otherwise the Game of the Year Edition maybe a better choice.

I'm very suprised (positively) not even by voice quality, but also by latency, which i think is more important for gamers. The latency was really very low (when i was testing echo of my voice) – much lower than teamspeak and ventrilo (not to mention skype, which isn't quite meant for gamers).
I also liked the in-game display of people on the mumble channel and visualizing who is speaking at the moment – which was great, cause i didn't know anyone there (by their voice) yet.
And very low cpu usage, Skype sucks in all cpu resources as it wants to give the best quality both video and audio.
Also Skype keeps transmitting everything over and over (there is no voice activation, there is no push to talk) which means your ping will simply rise because of it.
