Ah. How much is the server / domain per month / year?

Server goes around 85-100$ per year, domain is around 20$ (.eu aren't cheap). It all depends though, if currency rates are different.

I suppose we're hosted on shared linux hosting then? Did you get this hosting especially just for this site?
How much space&bandwidth does the site nomnom a month?

At first I was keeping this website on my old hosting account in a small Polish hosting company (at first the server was located in USA, then France, then Poland) and due to disagreement with the company (performance issues, old backups being restored, down times etc) I have successfully switched to Host Nine – which has unlimited bandwidth and space for a fair price and yes we are hosted on shared linux account – hosted in United Kingdom.

My old hosting was limited to 25GB per month so I had to overpay every time it was reached – and believe me it was a lot. The site generated around 50GB.

Comparing to the old server, in this month we generated over 60 GB of traffic and it keeps growing! Cool' class='wp-smiley' />

Also – this is not the only site hosted on this server (it was also like this on the old server), I have one more big site hosted – http://alienantfans.com

And here are few countries (steamunpowered.eu traffic only) that generate the most traffic:

Argh, I forgot about the move to HostNine … and O_o I seriously underestimated the traffic the site is getting. Was about to offer some space on my hosting account, thought the 12.5GB spare bandwidth would be enough! lol

Thx for the nice writeup there. 60GB is massive, but between 579 "members" that is only about 103.63MB each, ignoring the non-active ones and guests. Looking file-wise, what pulls the most bandwidth?

PNG and JPG. And last time we had an invasion from 4Chan. Someone posted a link to the "You will lose your game!" article about Modern Warfare 2.

On my other site obviously mp3, videos and zip files take the most bandwidth.

Haha, the 4chan effect can sometimes be way worse than the Dig-effect.

I guess all the bandwidth that went to US came from 4chan then, or was it Google sucking?
But I'm not surprised that most hits came from Germany but twice at much as the next? Wow, that is almost scary Surprised
