I clicked the link to check them out, and thought it looked odd that Black Ops was only 25 dollars when it is pretty much the standard retail price everywhere else. So I checked it out, and saw it had 2 reviews. When I read the first one I was taken aback by the fact that this store actually asks you for your Steam username and password the add the game.

All good all safe,

When i first found this site i was not sure if this was a scam or not. I
went ahead a ordered the key using Paypal (just to be safe) and in
around a couple of hours i had an email asking for my steam account,
after sending the requested info i then received a email back saying
that the game had been added to my steam account.

I logged into steam and there it was ready to be downloaded. Just to be safe i did change my steam account password.

But to anyone reading this now its SAFE i will be back to order more.

Gary

This never acceptable, and there is without the shadow of a doubt something shady going on. No legitimate business would ever ask for your account information.

Now, there is a possibility that they also just asked for the username, and then gifted the game to this guy. The review doesn't explicitly state they did ask for the password, but it heavily suggests it. However, that is just as bad, as Steam has a reputation for banning people who received gifts from strangers if the credit card used to buy the gift with is later found to be stolen, or anything to that affect. If this was a clean store, they would sell you the games as keys only.

Now what has this to do with the banner as you mentioned in the headline? :)

Well, I browsed through their shop, checked some games and only saw them offering keys or scans which you would recieve via email after paying per PayPal.

If they ask you for your account information in order to activate the game for you, you could get your money back -> Let's check the scenario that they say it wouldn't be possible to refund the money: then it is your fault anyways because you didn't read their condition of use and trade terms. — wait, I just wanted to read them (right in this moment) but there simply are none? Then it is just as dumb to buy a key there as it were to share your account data – if you do it anyways then it appears to me that you do not care and got nothing to loose at all.

Yep, and how do you think about the Steam gifting feature? To gift a game via Steam you need to buy it via Steam. And due to a little reasoning, according to Steam's pricing that simply doesn't match the key shop's business .

And by writing "you", I do not mean YOU personally.

What I want to say is that I think this thread is senseless and that people need to use their brains more often. I don't pity anyone who got ripped of by their own foolishness.

It's about the banner because I think it's inappropriate that a site
founded to serve consumer rights and work against unfair pricing
policies advertise a site that is apparently not a serious business.
Advertising such a store on a site like this gives the impression it
should be a safe place to get your games from.

I never said I believed they gift the games, just mentioned it as a possibility.

How can you be so naive as to say "if you get ripped off, you deserved to"? That goes against everything this site is for – helping people not to be ripped off.

sorry but LOL. You rather call these one naives who believe in everything they read in the internet.

It's like buying a "(how
not to get ripped off)… for dummies
"-book.
That's just a guide. Now as you've read it you have some things in mind
which, if you think it is worth, change your behaviour in some situations. If you'd get ripped of
once after reading this book, can you blame the writer or the press then?

Keystore are never a safe place to get your games from. And how can you call this shop not a serious business?[I mean I agree with that, but based on the FACTS i wrote in my previous post; your are just mentioning that you read someone writing something in the internet what purports on the account sharing thing] It seems like the guy got his game in the end, but sharing his account information can not be called anything else but dumb and as you have mentioned -naive-. For the rest of my opinion read my post above…

Furthermore I know that you never said they gift games. You just thought about why they are not! – And I gave you an answer which (it seems like) has been ignored of you..

I don't like the banner neither but I simply do not deem your attitude on this as right.

No, that's not what it is at all. It's as if that Don't-get-ripped-off book had ads in it for dangerous businesses. It would make sense for a consumer to believe it is safe to use businesses being advertised in a book about how not to be fooled. Therefore the author would most definitely be partly at fault.

As for for I can call it a not serious business – what kind of a question is this? You even agree with me, and it's not as you say "just someone on the Internet". It's a published review on their own site. It doesn't even matter if the guy got his game or not. This is the first thing your learn when you go online: never share any account information with anyone.

I have no idea what you are trying to say about the gifting. I never wrote anything wondering why they would do that. All I said was it was a theoretical possibilty, to back up my point, and in the odd case this is what they were doing, that it would be just as bad.

What's wrong with my attitude? I expressed my opinions calmly and backed up with fact and reasoning.

I do not want this to end up in a dispute so I got just the following left to say.

why do you throw words at me like I am naive or something like – you say it is an obviousness not to share your account data online – and I just said the same, but just attached words like if you do it anyway and get pranked it is your own fault..

And at the end of the day we're both not happy about the banner, however just arguing different. But, relating to your first post in this thread I think this thread will end up in peole just saying "yes you're kinda right". So I'm wondering why this isn't a thread which initiates a discussion about possible alternatives.

Okay guys. Let's end this fight here and now. Everyone can have his opinion. So let's look over such small disagreements and try to go on peacefully and supportive. We all are customers whos money is in danger :)

To play or not to play – what question is that?!

It's my first post here (so I guess my credibility is 0), but still: me and my friend just bought 2 keys for Medal of Honor, and we have received our scans, all good. We have talked with Dmitri on skype, since we saw this thread, and he was verry receptive :). Just want to give intkeys + rep for a good price and a good service. Hope my post will help to decide should you buy or not from intkeys. Cheers!

Hello there,

As the owner of IntKeys.com I would like to comment to this thread.

We sell the Eastern Europe version for Call Of Duty: Black Ops. The problem with this version is that the game may be activated ONLY from Eastern Europe countries, BUT, after the game has been activated it may be used all around the world without any problems.

So we give our clients 3 options as a solution, the client may choose the option he likes:

1. We will make a new steam account for client with the game activated inside. client choose the user name / password / email. After steam account is made and sent to client it is deleted from our data base.
2. Client can give us his steam information so we will activate the game for him.

3. Client will activate the game by himself with VPN.

NO MATTER WHAT OPTION YOU CHOOSE YOU WILL ALSO RECEIVE THE SCAN/PHOTO OF THE KEY THAT WAS USED.

If you read the condition of use on our website you can also see that:

"Intkeys.com offers a 60 (sixty) day guarantee."

Since black ops release date till today there was not even 1 complain from any client.

Also if client feels that he's not sure or he wants to ask any more questions we have 24/7 LIVE SKYPE support. check it yourself on our website.

And now let me tell you something that other stores does not tell you. How to be sure that the game you buy is legit ? How to be sure it will not be blocked/banned/disabled within 2 months ?

There are many Chinese/Asian websites that sell keys for extremely low price but those keys are Digital (Just the key in txt), they get those key with stolen credit cards directly from steam system. steam disables those keys after 2 months.

Our clients always get a scan/photo of original retail box with the key on it so the client can be sure we have the game box in our hands and it was purchased legally. Also for bulk order clients we can even provide invoices that we get from Activision/EA companies etc..

If you have any more questions feel free to ask me, I'm here to help you.

I found this site (IntKeys) a few weeks earlier and decided, after some time checking on them, to buy some

CD-Keys and all went as it should. The delivery was quick (after some hours), no problems with the activation, original scans were sent. Cool

I buy a lot of CD-Keys from sites that you recommend and I am pretty sure this one should be on the trusty list. I hope I could say that for all sites I bought from.

The main reason, why I decided to buy from them, were their cheap prices, compared to others.

What I would wish for is, they would have more games to offer and that they would have more payment options. Smile
