There’s a hope for Polish XboX Live and Games For Windows Live. As far as I know the creators of WWL are about to receive an official statement from Microsoft head quarters in USA.

Too bad Microsoft waited a month to do this… We will post more details here as soon as we know something.

This year, 2010,  is going to be a historic year for Xbox and our aim is to bring to our Polish community of users the full and best interactive experiences possible on the Xbox 360. We currently finalizing our plans for the Polish market that we will become public at the forthcoming E3 consumer trade show, later in June.  Our Polish community of Xbox users should expect to hear more about how we will take the Xbox 360 experience to another level in Poland.

They didn’t even bother to sign the freaking letter (no one knows who wrote this, it just says Microsoft). I say fuck them and their legal games in Poland, just don’t buy new XboX 360 games if your country isn’t supported – like the upcoming Bad Company 2 (a 100% multiplayer game which has no…multiplayer).

That’s right, it’s less than a day for Microsoft to respond on the lack of XboX Live and Games For Windows Live in Poland (and the most of central, eastern European countries). I wonder if they’re going to send anything at all, at least an e-mail?

PlayStation 3  users all over the planet (the regular version, not PS3 slim) can’t login to the PlayStation Network, use their DLCs or earn achievements (and play some single player games).

The famous 8001050F error sets up the date in the device to January 1st 2000. What does it mean? It will disable your console.

Sony did react to all of this on their Twitter account saying:

PSN status update: We’re narrowing down the issue and continue to work to restore service to all. Updates as soon as we have them.

New Features Advance Leading Game Platform
February 23, 2010 — Valve announces a new version of Steam which is immediately available in public beta.

In the last 12 months, Steam has grown 200%. There are now 25 million users, 1000+ games, 12 billion player minutes per month, and 75 billion Steam client minutes per month. To accommodate this growth, a new Steam client has been created.

This opt-in beta is available immediately to all Steam users. If users already have Steam installed on their computer, they can take part in the beta by clicking this link and then selecting "UI Update" under Beta Participation. Increasingly, the most effective way of reaching new gamers is through the existing players of a game. With the new Steam release, gamers will now be able to see which games their friends have purchased directly within the Steam storefront. 25 million gamers create a highly effective and knowledgeable source of purchase suggestions.

With users purchasing more and more games through Steam, new methods of library management were needed. The new client introduces library customization tools to help gamers sort, group, and find games in libraries which for some hardcore players contain hundreds of titles. "We made hundreds of changes to the Steam client as a result of customer feedback on the interface, performance, and functionality," said John Cook, Director of Steam Development at Valve. Stardock launched today ImpulseTV. A new unique feature to its digital distribution platform Impulse.

There’s a lot of real gems out there that people would normally never hear about. With ImpulseTV, we hope to shed some light on great games – both famous and unknown.

Basically ImpulseTV is video channel embedded  into Impulse.

Currently 8 videos are available to watch. Including a ImpulseTV exclusive Sins of a Solar Empire Trinity and Star Trek Online feature video clip. Both are narrated by Jason Ocampo and Brain Clair from Stardock.

It is a interesting new feature not seen anywhere else. Certainly ImpulseTV bring some spice into the battle between Steam and Impulse. I like ImpulseTV, but I’m curious if it will develop into anything else than a pastime amusement.

CEO of Stardock Brad Wardell states:

We will be constantly enhancing the features of ImpulseTV over the course of the next year. What’s wrong you may think? Well, according to Steam Support you can’t refund only one game if you put them both in the shopping cart. And now the guy had to “give back” (and get back the $2 of course) Psychonauts in order to get his money for AvP back.

After that he wanted a refund for his pre-ordered copy of  Battlefield Bad Company 2. I wonder why?

Whats’s our point? Watch out there kids, don’t get pre-orders with regular games!
