Steam account sells for $1,000 on eBay

An unknown Steam account holder managed to resell used Steam games – 139 of them, for $1,000.

Seller with a nickname dave311freak estimated his collection’s value at $2,700 and said he wanted at least $500 for the collection. The collection includes Grand Theft Auto IV, Modern Warfare 1 and 2, and Borderlands. He ended up getting double of what he wanted in the first place.

This account has absolutely no bans on any of the games, is in good standing with VAC, and any one of the games can be downloaded at any time on any computer with Steam on it.

I will change all of the information in that account to the winner’s email address and issue a password to the winner that he or she can change once they log in. I will also provide user account information for games that require additional credentials (Dragon Age for the DLC, Company of Heroes Account info, etc…).

Why is dave311freak ditching his Steam account (which is against the Steam Subscriber Agreement by the way)?

As you can probably tell, I spend way too much time buying and playing video games and I am going to try to spend more time with my family and doing other hobbies.

What do you think? How much is your Steam account worth? :-)

Crayon Physics Deluxe – Pay what you want!

Crayon Physics Deluxe

As some of you already know the makers of Crayon Physics Deluxe are having a birthday sale just like the critically acclaimed World of Goo had. Basically go to their site, click on the Buy The Game link and chose what price you wanna pay for the game.

The game is kind of expensive on Steam – US: $19.99, UK: £15.99 (29% higher), EU: 17,99€ (31% higher) – check it here. So I suppose it’s way better to support the indie developers directly in that case ;-)

Have fun!

Click here to buy it directly from the developers!

And the winner is!

Here are the lottery results:

We had 515 total entries. Most of users passed the quiz (309 valid quizes) and amazingly big amount of users failed the quiz (206). That’s weird, it was really easy, considering every single question had it’s answer on our website (especially the recent 1 Year Anniversary post).

Modern Warfare 2: You will lose your game!

Yes, most of you will lose it if you bought the game in other place than Steam or authorized retail stores. So if you bought your Modern Warfare 2 key of OnlineKeyStore or something similar (maybe G2Play?) you will lose your game from the Steam games list and you will never get it back!

Here’s a link to Steam Powered forums: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1031758

And here’s BurtonJ’s response:

Update:

Here’s what he did now:
nazi

Also right now it seems like he’s saying "You have to buy games in our 300% more expensive store, sorry mate."

Modern Warfare 2: Polish translation sucks

According to Modern Warfare 2 (.eu) Polish distributor and publisher LEM made few major mistakes (including in game achievements and the box itself), here’s a sample (“ZGÓB” should be ZGUB – it means LOSE – “Don’t lose this number”, the next one is self explanatory):

Zero Gear get a beta Steam key!

Click here for your key! There’s a rumor on the net that Valve is giving out keys to some unknown game. We just wanted to clear it all out, you just have to go here and get your free beta key for Zero Gear – a funny racing game (similar to Mario Kart). So don’t listen to some morons on the Internet and don’t think of buying this key either when someone wants to sell them – those keys are totally free and temporary.

After you receive a key enter it in the Steam client and download the free beta while you can! The game takes around 240MB.

Have fun!

And here are some screenshots:

And here’s a short gameplay video I made the other day:
